My approach:

I view psychotherapy as a collaborative relationship where both, therapist and patient, work to alleviate the patient’s suffering and improve his or her life.

Especially at the beginning, establishing this kind of relationship may feel risky and it is important that you feel safe, understood, respected, and that your investment of time, emotional/mental energy and finances is worth the effort.

My experience

I’ve been in the patient’s seat and know what it’s like to feel lost, alone and hopeless, and to struggle to find adequate help. Fortunately, I also know how a combination of the right support and personal commitment can help one to experience less pain, increase understanding for self and others, overcome challenges, and cultivate a more wholesome life.

My own experience as a patient and my work (inside and outside the therapy room) with people who have found ways to persevere and grow through hardships nurture my desire to help others through their own journeys of overcoming, healing, and fulfillment.

My promise

If you choose to work with me, I will aim to meet you with warmth, authenticity, humility, and sensitivity to your background and values. I will do my best to understand accurately and deeply and will encourage feedback to ensure we agree on the terms of the relationship (schedule, duration of sessions, fee, etc.), the goal for therapy, the strategies we will use, and what progress and success will look like. Throughout the process, I will take care to be gentle with topics that are particularly sensitive to you, help (and sometimes challenge) you to explore unhelpful patterns, and encourage the development of healthier thoughts, behaviors and relationships.

While challenges are unavoidable, I firmly believe in each person’s capacity for growth. I’m committed to helping you move forward and build a rich, meaningful life.
